Palms will be blessed and distributed in the church at the beginning of the liturgy.
The foot washing, institution of the Lord’s Supper, and stripping of the altar will occur during the liturgy. The foot washing is offered to any who desire to participate; all are welcome to observe!
A time of prayer and reflection before the Blessed Sacrament, which will be kept in the garden (church library) overnight. Please contact Mother Kristin if you would like to sign up for a time to keep vigil in person. We will stream an image of the garden via Zoom throughout this time, to facilitate prayer and private devotions at home.
The traditional liturgy of the day will be observed, including communion from the Blessed Sacrament, which will be carried in procession from the garden to the church.
We will conclude Good Friday with the journey of the Stations of the Cross, which will be set up in the portico and on the patio of the Ann Lovekin Memorial Rose Garden.
Memorial Rose Garden. The Stations of the Cross will be displayed outside throughout the day; you are welcome to come and pray there, and/or in the labyrinth, at any time on Good Friday.
A brief period of prayer while we commemorate the presence of Jesus in the tomb. Following this liturgy, we will begin decorating the church for our Easter celebration.
Christ is risen! Following the joy-filled Eucharist, the Episcopal Church Women (ECW) will provide treats and beverages during an outdoor reception. Do you know of any children who will be attending? Let us know so that we can prepare for an Easter egg hunt!
